What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Associate position at IMC Companies LLC?
Position Overview: Strong AP background – at least 3 years. Complete all processing of Accounts Payable for assigned clients. Assist in all other accounting functions as assigned.
Important Job Functions
- Maintain accounts payable functions for assigned clients.
- Obtain proper approval for payment of invoices using INDEX software.
- Prepare accounts payables checks as required.
- Obtain required documentation from vendors (W-9, ACH info) as needed and archive accordingly.
- Review vendor statements and resolve outstanding items.
- Maintain proper storage of payables items using INDEX imaging system.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, vendors and co-workers.
- General ledger balancing and reconciliation includes identifying and understanding the source of discrepancy and being able to articulate why discrepancy exists.
Other Job Functions
- Assist clients and managers with items of concern such as questions regarding expenses, vendors, etc.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Assist in the completion of month end reconciliations as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of coding invoice in preparation for monthly recaps
- Excellent organizational skills and time management.
- Effective customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Dispute resolution skills.
- Experience with month end close process.
Other Skills/Abilities
- Full understanding of both the INDEX imaging system and Great Plains accounting, processing of items using said program.
- Customer relations with vendors and affiliated company managers.
- Ability to work well with others as well as independently.
- Other duties as assigned.
