Position Overview: The Transload Coordinator plays an essential role in the success of IMC, including dispatching and monitoring movement of containers for the customer. This role also provides excellent customer service and solutions, and ensures smooth and constant communication between our internal customers and our trucking partners.
Essential Job Functions
- Receive work orders, dispatch appropriately, monitor the delivery process, and gather necessary information for timely, accurate billing
- Conduct effective load planning
- Work alongside IMC team members to meet minimum load standards and create loads that can be readily dispatched
- Optimize loads for best possible service, while mitigating cost
- Manage efficient operational planning of selected ports and ramps
- Address payable issues with customers and vendors, working in conjunction with the admin/accounting department
- Communicate directly with customers when necessary to advise shipment delays and updates
- Collect and organize data for reporting
- Conduct all business in a highly ethical manner, exhibiting behavior, practices, and standards that uphold IMC core values
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- College education or equivalent experience a plus
- Relevant work experience a plus
- A willingness to learn and adapt to different systems and platforms
- Ability to multitask and be comfortable in a strong and fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service background
