Role Overview:
Installs, programs, maintains, and repairs fire alarm wiring and equipment. Ensures the functionality of fire safety equipment, complying with all relevant codes and regulations, as well as providing timely support and troubleshooting in case of malfunction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, repair, and maintain fire alarm systems
· Program and test fire alarm systems to ensure they are in compliance with codes
· Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications
· Provide technical assistance and resolve related issues
· Prepare service documentation for management
· Work closely with team and clients to meet project objectives
· Adhere to safety policies and procedures
· Stay current with the latest fire alarm systems, models, and techniques
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in the fire alarm industry with an emphasis on fire alarm installation and service work.
Capabilities:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication
- Ability to understand and work with mechanical systems, tools, and machinery
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Working Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to high and low temperatures
- Potential exposure to noise, dust and chemicals
- Must be able to bend, climb, lift heavy tools and materials, and work in confined spaces.
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, or working in awkward positions.
