Job Description: Business Intelligence Architect/Developer

About the Role
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Architect/Developer to support the optimization of data-driven reporting systems for a government agency. This role involves analyzing existing technical processes, improving data workflows, and bridging communication between technical teams and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in data analysis, ETL processes, and coding, paired with the ability to translate business needs into actionable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Analysis & Development
- Review and optimize code, data pipelines, and ETL processes used to generate performance framework reports (e.g., State/District Performance Frameworks).
- Identify inefficiencies, errors, or gaps in existing codebases and data flows.
- Collaborate with technical teams to enhance data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Develop scalable solutions using SQL, Python, R, Informatica, Oracle, and Tableau.
Business Process Documentation
- Map and document end-to-end business processes and workflows for report generation.
- Define and validate business rules, data logic, and requirements with non-technical stakeholders.
- Create clear technical specifications, process diagrams, and user stories to align technical solutions with business goals.
Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Facilitate workshops to gather and prioritize business and technical requirements.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment on project scope and deliverables.
- Deliver presentations to stakeholders to review findings, propose improvements, and address feedback.
Deliverables & Quality Assurance
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including data dictionaries, process maps, and codebase revisions.
- Ensure all deliverables adhere to organizational coding standards, security protocols, and configuration management guidelines.
- Implement internal quality control processes to validate accuracy, clarity, and functionality of outputs.
Required Skills
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or R for data analysis and automation.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica), databases (e.g., Oracle), and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and performance optimization.
Business Analysis:
- Experience in process mapping, requirements documentation, and stakeholder management.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-sufficient with minimal supervision in navigating data environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience in public sector or education-related data systems.
Salary : $80 - $85
