Job Title: IT Finance Specialist

Job Summary
The IT Finance Specialist will support the PIT division in optimizing financial processes, tracking IT spending, and ensuring compliance with budgetary and contractual guidelines. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in budget analysis, vendor management, and financial reporting to drive cost efficiency and process improvements within IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis & Budget Management
- Conduct program analysis, including budget planning, funds allocation, and variance reporting.
- Monitor spending against approved board authority and contracts to ensure compliance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions for budget alignment.
- Contract & Vendor Management
- Track vendor contracts (expirations, scope, costs) and manage invoice processing/payment verification.
- Prepare monthly "Buy Back" invoices for Charter/Partner schools and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain electronic/physical documentation for audits, including E-Rate funding records.
- Prepare weekly variance scorecards and monthly financial reports using advanced Excel tools.
- Process Improvement
- Analyze financial data (spending trends, forecasts) to recommend process optimizations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align IT financial strategies with organizational goals.
- Operational Support
- Assist with budget amendments, error resolution, and ad-hoc financial projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to attendance and onsite work requirements.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
- 5–10 years of finance experience, with a focus on budget analysis (candidates with >10 years will not be considered).
- Proven track record in IT financial management, vendor contracts, and compliance.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, dashboards).
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and ERP systems.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
