Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to join Radiology team. Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Radiology and direct supervision of the Ultrasound Supervisor or Vascular Lab Supervisor, you will independently perform a variety of diagnostic and invasive ultrasound procedures.
Schedule:
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 8 hours shift
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using appropriate instrumentation settings, based on a solid knowledge of ultrasound physics.
- Make independent decisions on the length, complexity, and appropriateness of procedures to obtain accurate anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for the interpreting physician.
- Collaborate with radiologists and/or referring physicians, providing technical interpretation of diagnostic images.
- Consult with referring physicians to determine the most suitable ultrasound procedures for clinical symptoms and conditions.
- Oversee patient scheduling and coordination with other departments.
- Maintain patient examination records and document any unusual conditions or limitations.
- Ensure all required paperwork, including examination and billing documentation, is completed.
- Implement and maintain Quality Control programs for diagnostic ultrasound equipment, conducting testing procedures and evaluating results.
- Participate in Quality Improvement activities related to ultrasound procedures.
Requirements:
- ARDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist.
