Scope The Grant Writer at IMEG Corporation will play a pivotal role focused on researching and preparing grant applications to secure funding needed to meet the diverse needs of IMEG clients. The Grant Writer will conduct thorough online research to demonstrate the need for funding, which is crucial for the preparation of persuasive and high-quality written funding requests. These requests must align with the requirements set forth by various agencies. The Grant Writer will also be responsible for reviewing and understanding financial documents to prepare budgets that meet the stringent requirements of funding agencies. Principal Responsibilities Research and identify potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other sources. Advise clients as needed on available funding and potentially eligible projects. Collaborate with clients to identify needs and gather relevant data for proposals, including program development details and budgeting information. Perform online research to identify supportive information to be used as documentation for grant applications. Complete high-quality written funding requests which address identified client needs and meet funding agency requirements. Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, deadlines, and reporting requirements. Proofread and edit proposals to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to funder guidelines. Build relationships with funders and stakeholders to enhance fundraising efforts. Possible planning related duties Stay informed about trends in grant funding and best practices in proposal writing. Required Skills/Abilities A strong understanding of community development planning, budgeting, and fundraising strategies Ability to complete application forms and documents with minimal guidance. Effective communication to liaise internally with team members and externally with clients as part of a large integrated team. Strong skills in program development, budgeting, and financial report writing. Excellent proofreading and editing skills with keen attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure. Education and Experience Master’s degree in public administration, planning, or a closely related field. Proven experience in proposal writing and plan preparation. Familiarity and experience developing successful applications for Federal agencies (i.e. Economic Development Administration, Department of Housing & Urban Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Federal Highway Administration). Experience with grant writing for Tribal communities and programs including Tribal Transit Plans and Comprehensive Plans.
