What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Safety position at Imerys?
Job Summary
This position supports all aspects of the Imerys Safety System and HS regulatory compliance under the general direction of the EHS & Sustainability Director.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deploy and drive group strategic initiatives to reduce or eliminate risk and improve HS performance.
- Lead HS programs across multiple operations located in Western USA.
- Become a subject matter expert on Imerys protocols concerning environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety programs and procedures.
- Oversee coordination and maintenance of site Industrial Hygiene and Safety programs.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents.
- Prepare and submit safety and environmental reports and permits in a timely manner.
- Coordinate training mandated by MSHA, OSHA, state, or local regulatory agencies.
- Support development, planning, delivery, and review of HS training.
- Participate in site audits and inspections and support tracking and implementation of corrective actions.
- Manage relationships with applicable regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, or a related area.
- 10 years experience in Safety and Health roles in a mining, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
Work Environment:
The role involves variable field activities in Plant and Mining operations, including information collection, data analysis, and collaboration at all levels. The position also requires up to 60% travel to other IMERYS locations, consultant/vendor locations, and professional meetings.
