Position Summary: Engage, inspire and transform our student athletes through training, development, coaching, and mentoring both on and off the court.
Responsibilities:
Cultivate an IMG Academy basketball program that is rooted in integrity, growth, learning, passion and teamwork.
Foster a program that inspires greatness through actions, words, behavior, and accountability.
Create a community environment encouraging parents, educators and admin to work together for the development of our student-athletes. Focuses in this area will be personalized coaching and parent communication.
Establish training techniques with a track record of success in technical skills and character development.
Monitor the academics of student-athletes with an understanding of NCAA academic requirements.
Collaborate with College Counseling on the placement of all student athletes for the best fit possible.
Work with the basketball program manager, when needed, on game scheduling.
Deliver IMG Academy basketball camp training sessions throughout the year with a high degree of competency.
Assure proper safety is maintained during all practices and games.
Adhere to all campus & company values, policies and business ethic codes.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports management, business administration or a similar sports or business-related field or the equivalent.
Successful head coaching experience and a proven track record running all aspects of a program.
Strong commitment to student-athletes.
General Microsoft office computer skills with strong communication skills.
Experience working with basic video technology and software platforms on film breakdown, communications, and creative graphic presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with college planning and placement process.
Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Valid driver’s license with ability to drive for tournaments, games, travel.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required.
High energy environment that requires significant physical conditioning and endurance to execute programs properly.
