IMH is looking for 1 skilled full- time Shipping and Receiving Clerk for our Indianapolis manufacturing facility.

Position Overview:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for overseeing the accurate and efficient shipping of metal products and components. They handle tasks such as preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, ensuring proper packaging, and maintaining inventory records. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and delivering top-notch quality assurance are key aspects of their role.
Responsibilities:
Shipping
- Safely and securely package products for shipment, including proper labeling and documentation to comply with shipping regulations.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain shipping records, including packing lists, and BOL’s, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the production team, customer service, and logistics partners to coordinate and communicate shipment status, delays, or any other relevant information.
- Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
- Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.
- Act as a liaison between the shipping department, production team, and external parties.
- Record all activities in the inventory management system, updating stock levels as needed.
- Provide shipping updates and tracking information to customers as needed.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to safety regulations and best practices in all activities.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Receiving
- Receives incoming materials, components, and equipment deliveries. Verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers.
- Inspect and report any damages, discrepancies, or quality issues with received items.
- Label, categorize, and organize materials in the designated storage areas.
- Record all received materials in the inventory management system, updating stock levels as needed.
- Communicate with the procurement department regarding discrepancies, shortages, or overages.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely delivery of materials to support manufacturing processes.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized receiving area.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to safety regulations and best practices in all receiving activities.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of prior experience with shipping in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (valid forklift certification is a plus).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
