Role Overview
Identify, research, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Assist with the quoting and purchase of CAPEX items. Purchases materials or other goods and or coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies while ensuring compliance the company objectives regarding inventory, sales volume, product cost, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop strategic vendors to assist in achieving overall IMI performance
Analyze and evaluate supplier bids, tenders, proposals, or quotations.
Coordinates the procurement process, including planning, order formation and issuance, claims resolution, administration and closeout in support of projects or other operating requirements

· Participates in operations review meetings to communicate status of existing orders as well as assist with developing strategies for future work
· Monitor and maintain all data in relation to the cost, schedule and performance aspects of vendors/contractors
· Monitor material inventories and service levels; recommend/implement changes or corrective action as required
· Negotiate prices and terms with vendors for the purchasing of goods, materials, supplies and various services control the purchase order placement and supplier deliveries during the critical turnarounds while taking existing shop delivery dates into account
· Identify and advise management of potential risks inherent to quotations, purchase orders, and lead times
· Monitor material delivery and expedite suppliers when material is not received by the contracted due date
· Identify and implement process improvements across the Buying and Purchasing functions

· Minimum 3 years working as a buyer in the manufacturing industry
· Able to communicate verbally and in writing with vendors
· Ability to see the overall strategy and execute at that detail level
· Experience in Valve manufacturing is a plus
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Power Point, Word)
· High School Diploma/GED required
· Ability to write, read and speak Englilsh fluently
· Must be a self-starter and show great initiative
· Strong analytical abilities
· Experience interacting with cross functional teams including engineering, quality, logistics and sales
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Physical Demands
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, far vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lens.
