Role Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role collaborates closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure the seamless implementation of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will play a key role in evaluating and integrating emerging technologies, driving automation strategies, and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering, project management, and leadership, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment: This role is based on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, providing technical guidance and career development opportunities.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes that improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Oversee the introduction of new products into production, ensuring smooth transitions from design to manufacturing.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methodologies.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of products and optimize production layouts.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through process improvements and automation.
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all manufacturing processes.
- Manage capital projects, including budgeting, planning, and execution of equipment installations and upgrades.
- Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to optimize material flow and supplier performance.
Critical Competencies for Success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with CAD software and manufacturing process simulation tools.
- Familiarity with automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 technologies is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, ISO, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
