We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Peer Support Specialists to join our Mobile Response Team (MRT) in Prince George’s County. The MRT was developed to provide effective responses to mental health crises and to divert individuals from unnecessary legal system involvement and/or hospitalization. Our MRT is involved in providing immediate crisis intervention, clinical evaluation, collaboration with internal or external therapists, referral to other agencies, and advocacy for any treatment deemed necessary beyond the initial crisis.
As a Peer Support Specialist of the MRT, you will work alongside a clinician to respond to crises throughout PG County. You will assist the clinician in administrating clinical assessments and stabilizing individuals and families in crises, playing a critical role in our mission to save lives in the community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide community-based crisis intervention services to individuals and families with behavioral and emotional concerns, including children, adolescents, and adults.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and iMind policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the team to provide timely crisis intervention and stabilization services in the community.
- Thoroughly complete all iMind, State and County documentation in a timely manner.
- Facilitate appropriate referrals to internal and external resources as clinically indicated.
- Attend all staff meetings and participate in supervision to address assessments, crises, problematic cases, general case reporting, and resource information.
- Represent iMind in a professional manner, educate the community about services, foster collaborative relationships, and facilitate referrals.
- Serve on iMind and/or community committees as requested by the Supervisor.
- Take responsibility for professional growth by attending all mandatory iMind trainings and staying up-to-date with industry expectations.
- Provide transportation for MRT clients to appointments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess the Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential.
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health related field or documented 1-3 years of experience in human services.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required
- Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Must be willing to complete Criminal Background Check
