We are seeking a Procurement Specialist for our growing commercial locksmith and security company. This position will be responsible for all aspects of sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing the necessary materials and equipment required for locksmith services, including but not limited to key blanks, locks, security hardware, door hardware, tools, and specialized parts.  The Procurement Specialist will ensure quality standards and cost-effectiveness are met by building strong relationships with vendors and managing inventory levels to support efficient operations within the company. 

Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist:

Supplier Management:

• Identify and research potential suppliers of locksmith hardware, key blanks, security systems, and specialized tools. 
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, negotiating pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules. 
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews to assess quality, reliability, and compliance with company standards. 

Procurement Process:

• Analyze current inventory levels and forecast future needs to generate purchase orders. 
• Generate RFQs (Request for Quotations) and compare prices from multiple vendors to secure the best value. 
• Negotiate contract terms with suppliers, including volume discounts and warranty agreements. 
• Place purchase orders and monitor order status to ensure timely delivery. 

Proposal Processing / Management:

• Collaborate with technicians, operations, and the admin team to gather necessary information and tailor proposals to client needs.
• Create, edit, and submit proposals that clearly outline service offerings, pricing, timeliness, and value propositions.
• Ensure all proposals align with company branding, compliance requirements, and client-specific guidelines.

Quality Control:

• Establish quality standards for all procured materials and equipment, ensuring they meet industry specifications and company requirements. 
• Conduct quality inspections upon delivery to identify and address any defects or inconsistencies. 

Inventory Management:

• Manage inventory levels of locksmith supplies, including key blanks, locks, security hardware, and tools. 
• Implement inventory tracking systems to monitor stock levels and prevent stockouts. 
• Identify and address slow-moving inventory items to optimize stock rotation. 

Cost Analysis:

• Track and analyze purchasing costs to identify potential cost-saving opportunities. 
• Develop strategies to optimize spending and negotiate better pricing with suppliers. 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• 5 years minimum experience
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding various types of locks, security hardware, key blanks, and locksmith tools. 
• Procurement Expertise: Experience in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships. 
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and identify cost-effective purchasing options. 
• Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate favorable terms with vendors. 
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to interact effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders. 
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory management systems and purchasing software. 

Salary: $75k USD DOE
