Immanuel Church is seeking a Production Manager who is a collaborative leader, will build and empower teams, and has the technical skills to take Immanuel Church Worship to the next level.
Immanuel Church is a multi-site church in Northern Kentucky offering both traditional and contemporary styles of worship. The Production Manager reports to the Worship Minister and serves to provide collaborative leadership to the worship ministry of the Immanuel Church Campuses. The Production Manager serves to ensure that the vision and leadership priorities of the Senior Pastor are accomplished. The Production Manager has direct oversight of all Audio, Video, Lighting, Staging, and Live Stream needs (worship and special events) for the Immanuel Campuses.
The following is an overview of job responsibilities.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Production
    • Work with the Worship Minister to ensure every service flows with excellence, preparing the way for people to hear and receive from the Lord.
    • Attend weekly staff meetings with Worship Minister, worship and department team.
    • Attend weekly staff meetings, as required, with “core” leadership team.
    • Responsible for the long-term and weekly scheduling and communication with all production team members, including weekly email and web-based reminders of
volunteers’ schedules.
  • Stage Preparation and Management
    • Oversee the specific stage preparation for each service.
    • Recruit, train and schedule stage management.
    • Stage preparation includes everything from stage design and equipment placement ensuring a proper sound and video check are performed prior to each service or event. Nothing should be presented on screen or stage that has not been previewed prior to an event.
    • Use technology to enhance worship and the preaching of the Word of God.
    • Recruit, train and manage the production team to help with all backstage aspects of service production and special events.
  • Audio
    • Recruit, train and schedule audio engineers.
    • Provide sermon recordings for website and podcast.
    • Prepare the stage with microphones and needed equipment.
    • Maintain the audio and related equipment.
    • Provide sound check of all lines/videos prior to each service.
    • Maintain and inventory all sound equipment. Track equipment usage and formalize tracking system for any department using audio or video equipment.
    • Provide audio for special events and offsite events.
  • Lighting and Intelligent Lighting
    • Recruit, teach, and empower a team of leaders who will provide excellent lighting for all services and special events.
    • Provide expert advice and insight to the effective use of lighting as may be done in other successful churches.
    • Oversee the use of theater lighting for major productions to include design and rental options.
  • Special Production and Special Events
The Production Manager will work with the Worship Minister and other production leaders to serve at our special events. This includes major productions where theater lighting and special effects are vital. It also includes such events as banquets or offsite events such as a business luncheon.
  • Work with Worship Minister to plan and prepare production rehearsals.
  • Schedule and oversee technical rehearsals during major productions.
  • Video and Technology
The Production Manager will oversee the maintenance schedule of all ministry technology and keep the Worship Minister and Church Administrator/Executive Minister abreast of specific concerns or needs related to:
  • Projection and Projection screens
  • Cameras and Equipment for IMAG
  • Video, lighting, sound consoles
  • Intelligent, video and theatrical lighting
  • Sound Reinforcement technology
  • Audio/video recording
  • Staging equipment
  • Interactions:
    • Maintain good relationships with volunteers, staff, and lay leaders.
    • Interact positively.
    • Attend meetings
  • Other Duties:
    • All other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Worship Minister, Executive Minister, Senior Pastor or their respective designees.
SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS:
This position exists to further the ministry mission of Immanuel Church. The Production Manager will work to instill in each team member the ministry mission DNA of Immanuel Church.
  • Must be a growing Christian, deepening his/her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, as Savior and Lord, and modeling this faith relationship to others (1 Timothy 3:1-13). This must include a visible commitment to prayer, submission to the authority of Scripture, and dedication to living out the truth of God’s Word (2 Tim 3:16).
  • Must have a calling from God to serve in the ministry of the local church.
  • Desirable spiritual gifts: administration, service, helps, encouragement, faith, and leadership.
  • Must be willing to support realization of the church’s vision, mission, core values, and biblical priorities.
COMPETENCIES AND TRAITS:
The Production Manager is responsible for creating the organizational structure and administrative execution that empowers the department to operate in a spirit of unity and excellence. This job requires a strong emphasis be placed on recruiting, training, and team building. Each division within the Production Department must have clear leadership structure and effective communication of vision and expectations. A major key to success will be the ability to recruit and nurture a continual pipeline of new leaders and volunteers.
  • Must be a teachable, team player able to work positively and constructively with staff, lay leaders, and volunteers.
  • Must handle conflict resolution with excellence (using the biblical model outlined in Matthew 18:15-17 as a guide).
  • Must possess, and continually develop, strong interpersonal skills including oral and written communications.
  • Must be a person who is a self-starter and strategic thinker, able to multi-task and work independently.
  • Must be able to delegate and equip people to do projects related to finance needs.
  • Must demonstrate emotional maturity, trustworthiness, confidentiality, and honesty.
  • Must interact with others with kindness, congeniality, integrity, Christian love, and compassion.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • College degree, preferably in worship or similar field of work.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of production experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of leading production “back of house” teams.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Walk, bend, twist and kneel
  • Climb up and down stairs
  • Finger and hand dexterity sufficient to operate a variety of computer and other technical equipment
  • Specific vision ability required by this job to include close, distance, color and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds with or without assistance
  • Transportation to & from work locations
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • All work is completed in-person generally at the Lakeside Park Campus.
  • This position is anticipated to be 20 hours per week with hours negotiable, but generally attained during weekdays with Sunday responsibilities.
