Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Office Assistant to join our staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support, managing office tasks, and ensuring smooth operations within the church office environment. This role requires proficiency in various office management skills, excellent phone etiquette, and the ability to handle clerical duties efficiently.
Responsibilities
- First point of contact for visitors and members to the Pastors and staff.
- Answer the telephone, screen and direct calls or take messages.
- Help maintain the church management software (Elexio ChMS)
- Assist in process of creating and printing bulletins, certificates, letters, etc., as directed by the Parish Administrator.
- Pick up, sort, and distribute internal and external mail.
- Assist in keeping the common office area neat and organized.
- Some cross training with the Parish Administrator will be required.
- Other clerical tasks as assigned.
Necessary Skills
- Maintain a working knowledge of current office technology and operating systems.
- Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for effective communication.
- Commitment to healthy communication channels and being a strong team player.
- Regular, timely attendance during stated or negotiated hours.
