The Screen-out Element for this position is the ability to perform the duties of a Rigger Worker as demonstrated by working under close supervision including using established rigging practices, working under the direction of a senior Rigger assembling, repairing, and installing weight handling gear and various standing and running rigging onto heavy loads for movement by crane or other mobile material handling equipment; signaling crane operators, using standard hand signals to assist with lifting operations; a general knowledge of mathematics; assisting senior Riggers in calculating weights, center of gravity, lifting capacities, angles of tension and breaking strength of rigging gear; determining measurements, volumes, weight of materials using assisting in mooring vessels, and/or line handling; performing rigging aboard or in direct support of sailing ships/sail powered vessels; working a member of a rigging/lifting team.
