Currently, we are hiring for the Summer Session (6/16-8/12). Instructors will need to be available during the entire summer session. Instructors will need to be on campus 2-4 times a week based on the course.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced ELA Instructor to join our faculty. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting students in a hybrid classroom, ensuring they master content in various subject areas.
This is a part-time position that requires innovative teaching methods, a student-centered approach, and a commitment to fostering an engaging, inclusive learning environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high school or university-level education, experience with virtual teaching tools, and the ability to be flexible to the learning needs of students.
We are especially interested in candidates who have experience teaching AP-level coursework in a virtual or hybrid setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons: Teach assigned subjects and curriculum through interactive, live sessions and asynchronous activities using Canvas. Lesson plans are provided to instructors at Immersion Academy.
- Monitor student progress: Use the Canvas Learning Management System to monitor student comprehension and academic performance, offering consistent feedback through both formative and summative evaluation methods.
- Foster a collaborative environment: Promote active participation through discussions, creating opportunities for peer interaction.
- Participate in classroom observations and professional development: Engage in regular classroom observations to receive feedback on instructional practices.
- Collaborate across teams: Work with fellow teachers, mentors, and curriculum leaders to support cross-departmental efforts in addressing student needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
- A Master’s degree (or higher) in a discipline related to the course subject.
- At least two years of instructional experience, ideally within digital or hybrid education settings.
- Strong communication and instructional design skills, with the ability to scaffold complex content and offer targeted feedback.
- Comfortable using online teaching tools such as Canvas and Zoom.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with classroom observations and reflective teaching practices.
- Active Single Subject Teaching Credential.
