Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned, service-oriented Coffee Service & Field Technician with a strong background in food, hospitality, or retail service to join our team. This role combines technical expertise, a capacity for light merchandising tasks, and exceptional customer-facing skills—though much of the “customer” interaction involves building positive relationships with the host locations that house our self-operated kiosks. The right candidate will enjoy working with their hands, be comfortable troubleshooting a range of issues, and maintain focus on delivering a top-tier coffee experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation, Maintenance, and Repairs
- Install, configure, and test coffee kiosks at new host locations
- Perform regular maintenance, including cleaning, basic software checks, and general repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues to keep kiosks running smoothly
- Replace faulty components (e.g., brewers, pumps, valves) and ensure all equipment is calibrated for quality
2. Inventory and Logistics
- Manage inventory of coffee products, consumables, and replacement parts
- Restock kiosks as needed with fresh ingredients, ensuring proper product rotation
- Track and reorder parts to maintain readiness for repairs and replacements
3. Host Location Relationship Management
- Build positive relationships with host location staff
- Provide basic guidance on kiosk operation and cleaning protocols when relevant
- Coordinate with the host location to accommodate any site-specific requirements or policies
4. Administrative and Reporting Tasks
- Monitor kiosk performance using online tools and address system alerts in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, inventory usage, and any cash/coin collection
- Document and report operational issues, vandalism, or theft to management
5. Team Collaboration and Growth
- Assist with shop-based technician tasks, such as refurbishing kiosks and preparing parts for shipment
- Contribute to team initiatives, adapt to evolving company needs, and provide input on process improvements
- Demonstrate leadership potential and readiness to grow into an Operations Manager role if the opportunity arises
Qualifications
a) Technical Skills
- Proven experience in coffee equipment service, vending machine maintenance, or a related technical field
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and basic plumbing systems
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
b) Food/Service & Merchandising Skills
- Previous experience in the food, hospitality, or retail service industry
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic merchandising expertise is helpful, even if it’s not a core, day-to-day requirement
c) Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Reliable vehicle to use in the short term
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed
- Seasoned professional who can work independently and represent the brand confidently
