ImOn Communications has been the LOCAL choice for high-speed Internet, cable TV, and phone in Eastern Iowa since 2007. Since then, we have expanded our network to provide fiber Internet services to more than a dozen communities in Iowa and beyond! As we grow our network, we are looking for an IT Manager to join our team.

The Information Technology Manager position manages IT staff, the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of server platforms, storage systems, network connectivity, ERM/CRM platforms and security infrastructure to achieve high performance of various business applications. This includes ensuring industry best practices are followed, a secure, fault tolerant architecture is implemented, proper monitoring is put in place, and documentation is created/ maintained. The IT Manager is hands on and will assist in overseeing technical escalations, project scheduling, and team guidance.
Location: This position is located at the ImOn Headquarters in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leadership
- Manager will be expected to work with day-to-day operations of Systems Administration, IT Help Desk, and ERM/CRM responsibilities while managing a team.
- Manage IT staff and provide coaching, mentoring, training and regular feedback to improve performance.
- Utilize exceptional planning and project management skills to drive implementation of organizational goals and technical projects.
- Systems Administration / Desktop support.
- Define architecture, design, implement, and manage Desktop, server, network, and storage technologies to meet efficiency, reliability, and performance expectations.
- Design and implement physical, virtual, and cloud systems, maintenance support plans, and vendor-supplied patches. Configure and maintain backups.
- Manage Access Control.
ERM/CRM
- Deep understanding of ERM/CRM platforms and company specific platform uses.
- Manage and support multiple competing projects for on-time implementation.
- Understand and support corporate initiatives to attract and retain customers.
Security/Business Continuity/Incident Response/Disaster Recovery
- Manage all aspects of Cyber Security program including, documentation, education, implementation, adherence and support.
- Maintain data security and confidentiality.
- Create, implement, and monitor security platforms.
- Develop solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities
General
- Develop policies and procedures for the use of technology within the organization.
- Recommend and implement new technology solutions that improve efficiency within the organization.
- Guide vendors by communicating requirements, evaluate software and hardware solutions, and build cost effective solutions.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, Network protocols, firewall management, and operating system configuration.
- Effectively document and communicate technical information in a clear and understandable way to all levels of the organization.
- Point of escalation for complex technical needs.
We are looking for people with (Minimum Requirements):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or a combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years’ equivalent work experience in a senior technical analytical position responsible for managing server, application, and database environments.
- Advanced knowledge of server technologies including Operating Systems, physical and virtual server environments, collaboration systems including Office 365, MS Teams, Sharepoint, and Active Directory
- Basic knowledge of MS SQL Server. Advanced technical knowledge of scripting using shell scripting tools.
- Extensive experience installing, configuring, and maintaining database applications.
- ERM/CRM experience required with extensive experience with REST API interfaces
It would be nice if you had (Preferred):
- 1-3 years of experience managing an IT team.
- Certifications in Azure, VMWARE, Secops Security Operations, MS SQL server technologies, and Windows Server are highly desired.
- Basic knowledge of the following networking technologies: routing, switching, LAN/WAN, wireless, and Ports /protocol filtering (firewall systems)
