Manufacturing / Project Engineer Location : Belding, MIOur client, a leading Tier 1 automotive manufacturer, is seeking a Project Engineer to manage equipment implementation, continuous improvement initiatives, and machine downtime tracking. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working on manufacturing process improvements while overseeing new and existing equipment projects. If you have experience in automotive manufacturing and a strong engineering background, this is a great opportunity to make a tangible impact on production efficiency and operations. Key Responsibilities : -Lead projects for new equipment installation and replacement, including obtaining and evaluating at least three vendor quotes per project.-Oversee the rebuilding and upgrading of aging machinery to improve efficiency and reliability.-Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce downtime.-Track and analyze machine downtime to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.-Manage long-term machine implementation projects while concurrently executing process improvement efforts.-Provide corporate management with detailed documentation and reports on project status, progress, and performance metrics.-Ensure all engineering projects align with company goals for safety, quality, and efficiency. Qualifications : -Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.-3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing-3 years of project management skills with experience in capital equipment installation and process improvement.-Ability to analyze machine performance data and develop solutions to optimize productivity.-Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting for corporate review.
