Purchasing Planner -26130

Our client, a key player in the defense manufacturing space, is seeking a detail-driven Purchasing Planner to support critical inventory and procurement functions for a 3-6 month contract. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage inventory transfers between internal systems with accuracy and attention to detail
• Modify and update purchase orders based on evolving material needs and backlog clean-up priorities
• Assist in reconciling and correcting inventory discrepancies
• Support backlog reduction by identifying and resolving material issues
• Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, planning, and operations teams
• Ensure compliance with defense industry standards, including FAR/DFAR requirements
• Maintain data integrity across systems to support planning and reporting

Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain in a manufacturing or defense-related environment
• Strong understanding of inventory planning principles and procurement processes
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Experience working with ERP systems and managing material transactions
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Solid communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to FAR/DFAR compliance in a defense or government contracting environment
• Previous experience in a backlog reduction or inventory reconciliation project
• Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
• Background in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing
