Systems Software Reliability Engineer
Location : Remote in Eastern or Central Time Zone
Employment Type : Contract to Hire (Contract 4-6 months before hire)

As part of the engineering team, you will be a resource to the customer support teams as a last recourse for technical escalations. You will resolve production problems across a wide variety of technologies such as networks, databases, server virtualization, cloud deployments and others. If there is a software problem, you will partner with the development team to create a fix or implement a temporary mitigation until a permanent solution becomes available. You will also participate in special projects for customer requests for feature customization or expansion. You will be a part of a team that provides on call support to fix urgent customer issues. This position reports to the Chief Engineer, Software Engineering.
Job Overview :
We are seeking a Systems Software Reliability Engineer to join our team and ensure the stability, security, and performance of our software infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software troubleshooting, network and database management, Linux environments, TCP / IP protocols, and escalation support . You will play a critical role in identifying and resolving system issues, optimizing performance, and enhancing overall reliability.
Key Responsibilities :
- System Reliability & Troubleshooting : Monitor, diagnose, and resolve software and system-related issues to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
- Network & Database Management : Maintain and optimize network configurations, databases, and related infrastructure for high availability and scalability.
- Linux Administration : Manage Linux-based environments, including configurations, scripting, and performance tuning.
- TCP / IP & Network Protocols : Analyze and troubleshoot network connectivity issues, ensuring secure and efficient communication between systems.
- Incident & Escalation Management : Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues, collaborating with development, operations, and support teams to resolve critical incidents.
- Automation & Optimization : Develop and implement automation scripts and monitoring tools to improve efficiency and prevent recurring issues.
- Documentation & Best Practices : Maintain detailed documentation on troubleshooting steps, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
