Position Overview:
We are seeking a Middle School STEM Teacher who is passionate about integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics into engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students in grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills while incorporating biblical principles into their instruction.
Key Responsibilities:1. STEM Instruction & Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement a dynamic STEM curriculum that aligns with educational standards and Christian values.
- Design hands-on experiments, technology-driven projects, and interactive lessons to engage middle school students.
- Integrate biblical principles into STEM education, demonstrating how faith and science complement each other.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends in STEM education and incorporate them into classroom instruction.
2. Student Engagement & Growth:
- Inspire students to explore STEM fields by creating a classroom environment that encourages curiosity and innovation.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Utilize technology, robotics, coding, and other digital tools to enhance learning.
- Promote collaborative group work and problem-solving skills through real-world applications.
3. Classroom Management & Assessment:
- Maintain a structured and engaging classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and a love for learning.
- Assess student progress through projects, presentations, tests, and interactive evaluations.
- Provide timely feedback and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
4. Collaboration & School Involvement:
- Work closely with colleagues and administration to support school-wide STEM initiatives.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, including STEM clubs, competitions, or mentoring students in science fairs.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices.
- Support and participate in school events, chapel services, and mission-driven activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM-related field, or a closely related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching certification for middle school (or ability to obtain certification).
- Experience teaching STEM subjects, preferably in a middle school setting.
- Strong knowledge of STEM curriculum, instructional strategies, and technology integration.
- Passion for incorporating faith into education, aligning with Impact Christian Academy’s mission.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with coding, robotics, engineering principles, or project-based learning is a plus.
