Impact Housing is a vertically integrated housing development and production company whose mission is to solve the housing crisis among low- and moderate-income households in Southern California. Impact Housing is headquartered in the Bunker Hill district of downtown Los Angeles, coupled with a 51K SF modular manufacturing facility located in Yorba Linda and a satellite construction office in the Grantville district in San Diego.
Impact Housing closed a $25M Series A round of financing in September 2021 and is currently negotiating a term sheet for a secondary capital expansion round for plant capex and PropCo equity estimated at $70M, expected to close Q1 2024. The organization has a board of advisors comprised of the retired CFO and COO of Clayton Homes (Gross revenues $12B, wholly owned by Berkshire Hathaway).

The business model stabilizes in 2024 with a goal of delivering 800 modules per year in 2025. POSITION SUMMARY
The Drywall Mudder will be responsible for the installation, taping, and finishing of drywall surfaces, ensuring high-quality and durable finishes in our modular housing units. The ideal candidate must be experienced in various drywall textures, mudding techniques, and proper mixing and application of joint compounds. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a team in a fast-paced modular construction environment.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure, cut, and hang drywall panels with precision to fit specific layouts.
- Apply joint compound (mud) to seams, screw holes, and other imperfections to achieve a smooth finish.
- Sand and prepare drywall surfaces for painting or additional finishing.
- Utilize different texture techniques such as knockdown, orange peel, and smooth finishes.
- Mix and prepare joint compound, ensuring correct consistency for application.
- Install drywall corner beads, tape, and other reinforcements for durability.
- Identify and correct imperfections in drywall installation to meet quality standards.
- Follow all safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and team members to ensure efficient project completion.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Proven experience in drywall installation, mudding, taping, and texturing.
- Knowledge of various drywall texture techniques, including smooth, orange peel, and knockdown finishes.
- Ability to properly mix and apply joint compounds.
- Experience working with drywall tools such as trowels, knives, sanders, and hawks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finishes.
- Physical ability to lift and handle drywall sheets, climb ladders, and work in different positions for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines.

· Able to identify risks as well as opportunities to provide feedback on decisions affecting the financial results. EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Drywall Mudder or similar role.
- Experience in modular construction or residential/commercial drywall installation is a plus.

· Competitive hourly range of $19-22 per hour dependent upon experience and certification.
