Job Summary: The Teacher Assistant supports the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and fostering positive relationships with parents and guardians.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Classroom Support: Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote children's development.
- Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of children by supervising them during activities, meals, and nap times.
- Behavior Management: Support the lead teacher in implementing positive behavior management strategies to maintain a respectful and cooperative classroom environment.
- Individualized Attention: Provide one-on-one or small group support to children who need additional help or attention.
- Parent Communication: Assist in maintaining positive relationships with parents and guardians by providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
- Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety regulations, administer first aid when necessary, and maintain accurate health records.
- Classroom Maintenance: Help keep the classroom clean, organized, and well-maintained. Ensure that materials and supplies are used effectively.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the lead teacher and other staff to plan and implement center-wide activities and events.
- Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents that occur.
Salary
