Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their needs are met in a dignified manner.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Implement care plans tailored to each client's unique needs, including those requiring dementia care or hospice care.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any significant changes to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Assist with heavy lifting as needed for mobility or transportation of clients.
Skills
- Experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Proficient in meal preparation and understanding dietary restrictions.
- CPR certification is preferred to ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required for client assistance or mobility support.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices to effectively support clients experiencing cognitive decline.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and nursing home environments is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
