Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) to join our team. The QDDP will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position requires a strong understanding of resident rights, HIPAA regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of life for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized service plans for residents, ensuring that their needs and preferences are met.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor the progress of residents and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices in care, including medication administration and first aid procedures.
- Advocate for the rights of residents, ensuring compliance with all regulations related to resident care and safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
- Assist in providing hospice care and dementia care as needed, ensuring dignity and respect for all individuals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, nursing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in hospice care or dementia care is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of resident rights and HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to lift individuals as necessary while maintaining safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Certification in first aid is a plus.
