Job Description: Preschool Assistant Teacher
Position Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The Preschool Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. This role involves supporting daily classroom activities, fostering positive social interactions, and helping children develop foundational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons, activities, and projects.
- Prepare and organize materials needed for classroom activities.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
Child Development:
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Assist in guiding children through learning experiences and play to promote creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.
- Support children in developing self-help skills, such as dressing, eating, and cleaning up.
Behavior Management:
- Help reinforce positive behavior and provide redirection when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to address individual needs and behavioral challenges in a respectful and effective manner.
Communication:
- Maintain open and professional communication with parents, caregivers, and team members.
- Provide daily feedback to the Lead Teacher about children’s progress and any concerns observed.
Classroom Maintenance:
- Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Sanitize toys, surfaces, and other materials to uphold health and safety standards.
- Help set up and clean up activities and meals.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff to create a positive and efficient learning environment.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred).
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of child development principles.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to pass a background check.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position with hours typically from 7 AM- 3 PM, Monday through Friday.
