Joint Interest Billing (JIB)

Our client, a leader in the natural resources sector, is seeking a dedicated Joint Interest Billing (JIB)/Accountant to join their accounting team. This full-time position involves processing invoices, managing vendor payments, and assisting with joint interest billing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Code and input invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper allocation to cost centers, accounts, and joint interest projects.
- Process vendor payments via check and reconcile payments as necessary.
- Handle inquiries and discrepancies related to invoices, payments, account balances, and joint interest billing.
- Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of joint interest billings.
- Support year-end audit activities by providing documentation and necessary assistance.
Your Background
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting, with experience in joint interest billing or the oil and gas industry strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data entry and analysis.
- Familiarity with Open Invoice or similar software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional communication skills to collaborate effectively with vendors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
