Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to support the Director of Quality Assurance in managing Quality Assurance and Biosecurity Programs at our Paducah, KY facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, safety, and continuous improvement across all production shifts. This is a backfill position with an immediate start available.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform internal audits of QA, HACCP, and Biosecurity Programs; coordinate corrective actions with plant personnel.
- Accompany customers during facility audits focused on Quality Assurance and Feed Safety.
- Assist with the company’s antioxidant application program.
- Manage customer complaints by leading plant-level corrective actions and communicating updates to Sales.
- Support the Mock Recall Program and annual supplier Feed Safety Certifications.
- Train plant management and personnel in Biosecurity, HACCP, and GMP standards.
- Contribute to product development initiatives and collaborate on development teams as needed.
- Provide ongoing support to the company’s central analytical laboratories.
- Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Quality Management, Meat Science, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in a quality-focused role within a manufacturing or processing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- HACCP certification preferred
- Familiarity with plant Quality Systems, GMP, and HACCP Plan auditing
- Experience in the Pet Food Industry and working with animal byproducts
- Strong analytical and statistical skills
- Highly organized, proactive, and self-motivated
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and levels
