This job has advanced certification in nuclear medicine and assesses patients and safely performs routine nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols.
Education Required Completion of an approved nuclear medicine program.
Work Experience Required Minimum of 2 Years
Preferred Nuclear medicine experience.
Certifications
Required Registered in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent body as recognized by the American College of Radiology (ACR) or Intersocietal Commission Accreditation Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL) ORregistry eligible registered within 90 days of employment and temporary state license.
Current unrestricted license in state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood body fluids and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area where patients enter interact directly with patients and / or handle specimens that could contain diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
Because the incumbent works in a healthcare setting there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste in the environment through receipt transport storage preparation dispensing administration cleaning and / or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
