This job is typically 8 weeks in length in the assignment. This job is considered a leader in the provision of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Education
Required Registered Nurse Diploma.
Preferred Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
Work Experience
Required 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Certifications
Required Current RN License in the state of practice current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification (within 30 days of hire)
Preferred Certification in clinical specialty area

Physical and Environmental Demands

Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood body fluid and tissue.
The incumbent works in a patient care area works in an area where patients enter works directly with patients and / or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
Because the incumbent works in a healthcare setting there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste in the environment through receipt transport storage preparation dispensing administration cleaning and / or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
