Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technologist at Impekkable, you will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room by being constantly vigilant to see that proper aseptic techniques are utilized to prevent contamination and infection.
You will assist the surgical team as the sterile member who passes instruments, sutures and sponges during surgery.
- Setting up the operating room before an operation and organizing sterile tables with surgical instruments and equipment
- Preparing gastroenterology room for procedure
- Checking, auditing, and operating equipment such as lights, suction machines, electrosurgical units, diagnostic equipment, orthopedic, and endoscopy equipment
- Performing decontamination, sterilization, and repackaging of supplies used throughout the hospital
- Cleaning and restocking the operating room and gastroenterology room
Responsibilities:
- Anticipating the needs of the surgeon
- Holding retractors, cutting suture, and applying dressings as directed
- Ordering supplies
- Providing age-appropriate care for all age groups
- Maintaining safety of clients
Requirements:
Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program with eligibility to obtain certification is required.
Certification as a sterile processing technician within one year of hire required.
Current certification or eligibility to become BLS certified.
