Position Profile


The contents of this role profile outline the role and responsibilities of the Business Analyst/Project Manager and should be reviewed in conjunction with the Delegation of Authority, Organization Design Principles, RACI, Virtuoso Framework and Leadership attributes.

Position objective:

The Business Analyst/Project Manager works closely with the Finance Transformation and IT teams and the organization’s internal stakeholders to support implementation of the company’s vision through strategic executive support, project management, change management and communication management.


The Business Analyst/Project Manager is a strategic business partner to their stakeholders, providing thought leadership, creative problem solving, organization efficiencies, and workflow management to ensure the company agenda is implemented.


The Business Analyst/Project Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the company agenda by understanding the objectives, strategy and the vision and mission of the business to allow for optimization of the work environment for the key stakeholders to focus on their goals.


The Business Analyst/Project Manager will forge strong relationships with team leadership and internal co-workers, operating in a dynamic environment where they will need to anticipate problems across the business and parachute in to support in solving them regardless of the functional area.

Key responsibilities:

Overview

  • GAP Analysis: Assist internal customers to identify gaps between current business processes and desired future state to guide system development. Identify and bring to the table potential solutions that meet future state requirements.
  • Project Management: Lead and support multiple projects from initiation to completion. Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements. Collaborate with project stakeholders and teams to ensure successful project delivery. Hold regular meetings with end-user, technical, and contractor teams to gather information on project challenges and timeline slippage. Hold team accountable for deliverables and timelines. Hold periodic meetings with the Steering Committee to inform leadership in a non-technical and clear way on project status, roadblocks, etc. Make recommendations as necessary to ensure the project continues towards completion.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Sever as point of contact for end users, Finance Transformation team, and technical teams. Facilitate communication between business and IT teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly. Assist end users in creating a business case for projects, helping to determine ROI and make the case to leadership.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements through technology and innovation. Recommend solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across business operations.
  • Technical Design Mapping: Create technical maps that detail system architecture, data flows, and integrations for use in projects to ensure clear and accurate information is agreed upon for both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solutions Design and Testing: ROI and investment case building, defining business benefits vs technical benefits to use case, etc. Write user stories, functional specifications, and other documentation to support development teams. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with IT Dev teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements for selected end user client. Work closely with IT teams to design, test and implement technology solutions that align with business needs.

Education and qualification

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Project Management Certification and/or Business Analyst Certification (PMP, Scrum Master, e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, etc)

Desired:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies or experience with other enterprise platforms and integration tools.
  • Staffing industry and VMS system experience a plus.

Work experience and attributes:

Essential:

  • 5 Years as Business Analyst or similar role with focus on technical aspects of business analysis
  • Experience in technical map writing and creating clear, concise technical documentation, including outline and visual formats (Visio, PowerPoint or like software experience a plus). Strong understanding of business processes, systems, and software development life cycles (SDLC)
  • Project management experience, including working with cross-functional teams, managing timelines and delivering successful projects. Experience in PowerPoint presentations to executive leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. Quick decision-making ability, discernment on escalation to management, voicing concerns, red flags/warnings.
