Imperial Beach Pet Hospital and Urgent Care is privately owned and has just opened its doors! We are a 50 year old business that is in the process of being revamped and we need a new rececptionist to go with it! Come join our family hospital!
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and support to pet owners while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism upon arrival.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, treatments, and pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
- Assist veterinary staff with patient intake, including gathering medical history and performing basic assessments.
- Provide information on pet care, vaccinations, and preventive health measures to clients.
- Handle animal restraint as needed during examinations or procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for clients.
- Familiar with Rhapsody is a plus
Experience
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is essential.
- Familiarity with animal physiology, anatomy, and basic veterinary terminology is beneficial.
- Skills in dog handling and animal restraint are highly valued.
- Experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both clients and team members.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
