The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a fleet of vehicles and equipment, ensuring that they operate safely and efficiently. The mechanic performs routine maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on various vehicles such as trucks, vans, and specialized equipment. This role plays a critical part in minimizing vehicle downtime and ensuring the overall safety and reliability of the fleet.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system issues in vehicles and equipment.
- Repair and replace worn, damaged, or defective parts on a variety of vehicles.
- Conduct inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, and electrical systems for repair and replacement.
- Maintain accurate service records and work orders for each vehicle.
- Manage the inventory of tools, parts, and supplies required for vehicle maintenance.
- Monitor fleet maintenance schedules to ensure timely servicing and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies when performing repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the development of maintenance schedules and budgets.
- Provide support for emergency road repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
- Keep up to date with the latest vehicle technology, repair techniques, and industry standards.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- Certification from an accredited mechanic program is preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience as an automotive mechanic or fleet technician, with experience in diagnosing and repairing fleet vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, braking, and suspension systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Familiarity with manufacturer’s manuals and service schedules.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license.
- ASE certification is a plus.

Ability to lift heavy parts and tools (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in varying conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, and noisy environments.
- Ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods during repairs and inspections.

The fleet mechanic will primarily work in a garage & Occasional outdoor work may be required for roadside assistance or vehicle recovery.
Salary : $25 - $30
