Responsibilities
You will:
- Assist in fleet compliance including driver qualification files, drug and alcohol testing such as randoms, reasonable suspicion, and
- Assist in warehouse compliance and regular safety inspections: organize regular safety inspections forms for facilities, equipment, and work practices. Coordination of tracking completion and identified hazards.
- Safety training: align and aid in tracking safety training sessions for employees.
- Ensure safety related information is accurately received, tracked, measured and communicated to the various departments.
- Key Performance Indicators: measure, track, update and provide details in the communication of safety related performance metrics.
- Record Keeping: Utilizing the safety database will maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities. Keeping documentation up to date ensures compliance with regulations and provides a historical record for reference.
- May participate in safety committees within the organization.
- Distribution of Safety Equipment: Working with the regional safety managers, ensuring that employees have access to safety equipment and personal protective gear is part of their responsibilities. They distribute and monitor the proper fit and usage of safety gear.
- Ensure information is accurately received and communicated to the various departments.
- Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents, and related events.
Qualifications
You have:
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in related field (Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Sciences) preferred.
- 3 plus years of safety related experience. Relevant experience in developing safety programs, analyzing safety KPIs, understanding risk assessments and safety policies.
- Solid communication skills, including presentations, writing, and oral communication.
- Analytical thinking to decipher safety data trends and identify areas for improvement.
- Proficient computer skills with experience in the Microsoft suite.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently with ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Fluent in English, Spanish a plus
