Job Summary:
Responsible for managing all aspects of environmental, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
· Participate in objective setting, plan development, and performance review of the plant.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations and permits under OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI and any other non-financial regulating body.
· Maintain positive, proactive relationships with all regulatory contacts.
· Conduct safety training for all employees as needed and provide continuous efforts to increase safety awareness and improve work environment.
· Maintain a leadership presence on the plant floor, influence employees and supervisor behaviors, and fully engage employees in the safety process.
· Responsible for conducting Safety Audits based on schedule provided by plant manager and/or Corporate EHS
· Perform Hazard Assessments and solutions for mitigation
· Maintain and update chemical inventory as needed
· Ability to identify root causes and corrects actions by completing thorough investigation of any incidents, accidents or near-misses in a timely manner.
· Responsible for filing Worker’s Compensation claims with insurance carrier in a timely manner, monitoring and working with the carrier on each claim until closed.
· Responsible for conducting audits required under the Environmental Management System
· Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications (Required)
- At least 18 years of age (required at all locations)
- High School diploma or GED (required at all locations)
- 1-3 years in EHS related position
Job Qualifications (Preferred):
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred (all locations)
- Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
Physical Requirements of the Job:
· Frequent walking, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting and lifting for 8-12 hours per day
· Able to frequently walk, stand, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist and lift for 8-12 hours per day
· Able to work in non-climate-controlled and noisy environment
· Frequent overhead reaching and reaching with both hands
· Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or maneuvering loads up to 50 lbs
· Able to wear and tolerate Personal Protective Equipment (apparel and devices)
· Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials
· Reliable to come to work every day and be on-time
· Flexible work availability, including Overtime during the week and weekends
