What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution System Operator position at Imperial Irrigation District?
Under general supervision, monitors and controls electrical distribution system operations and equipment; prevents and restores the electric distribution system and maintains the operations reliability of the electrical distribution system; directs switching performed by field technicians and troubleshooters; coordinates customer outages, emergency restoration and clearances; maintains customer outage information database; complies with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) and District operating policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, business or other related field OR Associate's degree in engineering, math, business or other related field and four years' of electric systems, operation maintenance or line construction, electrical, electronic or computer science related work including design and analysis functions experience in the electrical field.
Direct and equivalent related power system operation, maintenance line construction, or relevant electrical utility fieldwork experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education required.
A valid driver's license issued by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles is required.An official current driving record (obtained within the last six months) from your local State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or from the official DMV website must accompany the job application (no third-party records accepted).
