What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electric Powerline Inspector (LQ) position at Imperial Irrigation District?
Under general supervision, patrols and inspects overhead transmission, distribution and underground power primary and secondary lines to locate irregularities, physical defects, or hazardous conditions; patrols on foot, by vehicle, boat or other means of transportation to detect unsafe or defective power lines and equipment; checks for adherence to General Orders 95, 128,165, District standards and Cal-OSHA regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
High school equivalency with supplemental college courses in principles of electricity and mathematics and four years of electrical, power line construction, line equipment operations or field electrical engineering experience and qualified Lineman Journeyman or 48 months of validated line construction work experience and a minimum score of 80% on the District Lineman Journeyman test. OR Eight years' of electric line construction experience including operating electric line trucks, buckets trucks and auxiliary equipment.
A valid driver's license issued by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles is required.
A valid California Class "A" driver license may be required, as determined by supervision for specified employees in this classification.
