Warehouse Manager

Imperial Pools Distribution is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse team in our Whitestown, Indiana distribution center. Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Supervise, manage, train, and schedule warehouse staff and delivery drivers. Ensure smooth operations, safety compliance, and efficient workflow. Monitor staff schedules, track overtime, and adjust staffing as needed to maintain efficiency and control labor costs.

• Receiving & Inspection: Oversee incoming product inspections. Verify shipments of pool equipment, chemicals, and materials for accuracy, quality, and potential damage before stocking.

• Order Fulfillment: Manage order fulfillment and pool kit assembly. Ensure all outgoing orders, including custom pool kits, pumps, filters, and liners, are accurately picked, packed, and staged for delivery.

• Shipping & Logistics: Coordinate shipping and logistics. Plan and schedule deliveries, oversee LTL and freight shipments, and ensure timely, cost-effective distribution to customers and job sites.

• Truck Loading & DOT Compliance: Ensure proper truck loading to prevent damage. Verify weight distribution meets DOT specifications and confirm drivers haul only what their license classification allows.

• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory control. Track stock levels, conduct cycle counts, and manage inventory of pool chemicals, parts, and accessories to prevent shortages or overstocking.

• Safety & Compliance: Maintain warehouse safety and compliance. Ensure OSHA compliance, proper storage of hazardous materials (like chlorine), and adherence to handling guidelines for pool chemicals and equipment.

• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment and vehicle maintenance. Oversee the maintenance of forklifts, pallet jacks, and delivery trucks to minimize downtime and ensure vehicles meet DOT safety regulations.

• Financial Management: Manage receivables, transfers, and special orders. Oversee inter-branch transfers, process customer returns, and coordinate special orders with suppliers and purchasing teams.

• Interdepartmental Communication: Communicate effectively with sales and customer service teams. Work closely with sales reps and customer service to resolve order discrepancies, manage urgent requests, and improve service levels.

Skill Requirements:

• Proven work experience as a warehouse manager
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
• Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases. Prior experience with Profit 21 (P21) is a plus but will train any qualified candidate
• Leadership skills and ability manage staff
• Strong decision making and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with branch management to achieve branch specific growth related goals.
