What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Manager position at Imperial Systems, Inc.?
This position's primary responsibility will be to oversee all functions of the purchasing department. This includes the buying, shipping, receiving, and allocation of inventory and non-inventoried items.
Our ideal candidate will be a highly-organized, results driven individual with experience managing people across multiple divisions.
Responsibilities:
- Team management – manage and develop a team of buyers and shipping/receiving personnel.
- Procurement planning - Oversee the purchase, receipt, and maintenance of materials necessary to complete made-to-order jobs.
- Utilize the ERP system to properly manage inventory levels.
- Vendor management - Work with the Supply Chain Manager to identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Quality control – analyze the materials purchased from suppliers and address any quality issues that arise.
- Meet Key Performance Indicators.
- Identify and correct inefficiencies in current processes.
- Communicate with vendors, sales staff, and other pertinent personnel with regards to cost changes and inventory questions.
- Track departmental metrics. Ex. Cost savings, delivery times, supplier performance, etc.
