POSITION OVERVIEW:

Located full-time, on-site at our beautiful Downtown Dallas location, the company we represent has a Watchmaking Training Center that opened its doors to aspiring watchmakers in September 2024. We are looking for a talented, committed watchmaker who is interesting in joining a team of Technical Instructors as they build a school that is shaping the future of the watchmaking profession in the United States. Successful candidates will be passionate about the watchmaking profession and be dedicated to sharing this knowledge with future watchmakers. We are looking for a watchmaker who embodies embodying honesty and integrity while enthusiastically demonstrating a commitment to excellence and achieving the highest quality of work at all times. A successful Technical Instructor will be personally invested in the school’s success and take personal pride in producing work that exceeds expectations. Additionally, a successful candidate will actively foster teamwork and volunteer to assist others beyond immediate responsibilities. This role requires watchmaking competence and technical knowledge along with practical skills. As a Technical Instructor, candidates will be required to effectively transmit skills, knowledge, and concepts to enable and enhance students’ learning. Additionally, the Technical Instructor will provide concise guidance while communicating complex ideas in ways that are easily understood. A Watchmaking Training Center Technical Instructor demonstrates commitment to students’ intellectual growth and commitment to the watchmaking profession while cultivating an environment of professional development that is safe, respectful and tolerant.

OUTCOMES:

  • Ensures students assigned to training receive the necessary content, skills, and context to achieve success in the program.
  • Ensures that presented lessons are clear and in alignment with the ASSW curriculum.
  • Ensures consistency of content across all company locations.
  • Ensures the integrity of the curriculum and training offerings.
  • Ensures that students participate and are engaged in learning.
  • Ensures that learners’ progress is effectively documented and communicated.
  • Ensures that the Watchmaking Training programs' learning environments are safe places of respect.
  • Ensures that the Watchmaking Training Program leverages the most relevant content, tools, and pedagogy when developing and delivering technical trainings to its students.
  • Ensures that students attending the Watchmaking Training program are engaged in learning and that their learning needs are supported.
  • Ensures that lessons follow a logical sequence.
  • Ensures that curriculum and corresponding lesson plans are adaptable to meet individuals’ specific learning needs and goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree.
  • Degree/certification from appropriately accredited watchmaking school.
  • 3 years’ relevant experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; to write and perform data entry on a desktop computer. The employee may spend much time working at a watchmaking bench. The employee may also spend time standing in front of a classroom lecturing. The employee is occasionally required to sit/walk/bend; lift and/or carry no more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision with use of a loop. The noise level in the work environment is usually low. The normal work schedule is 40 hours per week. May occasionally be required to travel within the United States and perhaps to Geneva.

Pay: $84,970.00 - $108,890.00 per year
