SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The primary purpose of this position is to assistant in facilitating the delivery of product and provide clerical and operational support to the Transportation Department in the best interest of its customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
Additional duties, which are necessary to carry out the function of the Transportation Assistant, may be assigned and are incorporated by reference into this job description.
- Responsible for daily mail distribution;
- Answers Transportation phones.
- Responsible for entering, reviewing and researching customer shortages (credits under review) in AS400 for all Imperial distribution centers;
- Responsible for verifying invoice discrepancies
- Responsible for reconciling errors on invoices provided by Transportation vendors;
- Responsible for contacting customers to notify them of Transportation issues such as late routes, mis-delivered product, missing signatures, pick-up discrepancies etc.
- Responsible for daily data entry on dispatch schedules and other Transportation spreadsheets
- Responsible for recording temporary helper times and sending their pay sheets to the temp company;
- Responsible for collecting the daily sales drop boxes and bringing them to Transportation
- Responsible for assisting with driver breakdowns and requests for service
- Handles computer operations, email, and telephone in a professional manner;
- Reports to work on time, as directed by the Transportation Manager, and complete all duties in a timely manner;
- Responsible for ordering transportation supplies
- Performs above listed duties in a cooperative, capable manner, processing the information effectively and communicating the information as needed effectively;
- Provides assistance when needed in will call area, driver’s room, and damage room;
- Performs any other duties assigned by the Transportation Manager or designee;
- All personnel within this job description shall be subject to cross-training into jobs within the organization based on Company needs.
