Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction
Location: Portland, Oregon
Imperium Global's client, a well-established 100 year old heavy civil construction company, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Portland, Oregon. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in estimating, cost analysis, and bid preparation for heavy civil projects, including earthwork, utilities, roadways, and site development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and potential risks.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure comprehensive bid proposals.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to develop detailed cost breakdowns.
- Track industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure up-to-date and competitive pricing strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in estimating heavy civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, underground utilities, and road construction.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
