Quarry Supervisor

Job Summary:
A leading provider in the aggregates and mining industry is seeking a Quarry Supervisor to oversee safe and efficient mining operations, including initial crushing stages. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the extraction, processing, and distribution of materials while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and legal standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, geologists, surveyors, and contractors to develop and execute effective mining plans.
- Develop short- and long-term strategies to optimize reserves and operational efficiency.
- Implement training programs to enhance operator performance and best mining practices.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on production, safety, and compliance.
- Ensure the efficient operation of crushing and screening plants, including staff training and performance oversight.
- Manage personnel, equipment, and resources to achieve key performance targets.
- Promote skill development and career growth opportunities for production personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and handle disciplinary matters as needed.
- Monitor equipment availability and uptime, while preparing capital requests for new or overhauled machinery.
- Develop and manage budgets within approved financial parameters.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of mining and quarry methods, drilling and blasting, reserve estimation, and geological assessments.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation, power haulage, and sustainable mining practices.
- Effective leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in software tools such as Google G-Suite, SAP, and AutoCAD.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a mining operation.
Additional Information:
- Supervises 5-10 direct reports and 30-50 indirect reports.
- Budget responsibility and limited domestic travel required.
- Work environment includes outdoor and indoor settings with exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and rough terrain.
- Physical demands include standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, and working extended hours.
