About the Role:
The ideal candidate has a demonstrated strong command of HR principles and best
practices for growing companies in the private sector, excellent communication skills,
and the ability to handle various HR tasks in a fast-paced environment, with heavy
emphasis on recruitment.
Responsibilities:
Primarily engaged in and responsible for Impex’s full spectrum talent management
program from hiring and retaining employees [80%] and other departmental
administrative responsibilities [20%]. This role requires a creative approach, a pleasant
demeanor, an open mind, and the ability to consistently organize, prioritize, perform,
and timely deliver moderate-to-highly complex HR work with a high level of accuracy,
service, and quality.
Reporting: This position reports to the onsite HR Manager and has accountability to
HR Executive Consultant. There are no direct reports to this position.
Key Responsibilities: This highly responsible administrative position performs the
following essential functions:
TALENT MANAGEMENT [80%]
- Serves as the Human Resources Department’s main point of contact for Talent
Management services.
- Provides guidance and assistance to hiring managers and candidates throughout
all phases of the talent management/employment cycles.
- Through analysis, research, and observation of jobs performed, creates and
updates job descriptions to accurately reflect the position’s current requirements,
responsibilities, and working conditions.
- Researches and compiles external and internal compensation data for
competitive benchmarking, providing reports and analyses to the HR Manager
and Executive HR Consultant.
- Engages in advanced active sourcing, screening, interviewing, and evaluating of
candidates to ensure a fit within the dealership’s culture and an ability to
successfully perform the job.
- Utilizes HRIS and ATS systems at an advanced level for managing related data,
analytics, and processes; appropriately uses AI technologies to enhance
productivity.
- Creates and launches effective social media recruitment campaigns and
programs, including digital marketing and professional social media engagement
on LinkedIn and platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and WhatsApp Business, to
attract passive and active top talent for various roles within the dealership.
- Establishes and maintains professional relationships with networks of
candidates, colleagues, customers, and vendors.
- Creates and implements a comprehensive onboarding process and orientation
program, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires into the dealership
environment.
- Provides professional, courteous, and timely acknowledgement of, response to,
follow up, and resolution for inquiries from candidates, employees, vendors, and
management.
- Keeps HR Manager and HR Executive Consultant consistently informed of all
recruitment and retention related activities.
- Implements all related programs.
- Creates and facilitates (and/or arranges for the facilitation of) training and
professional development programs for employees in various positions.
- Develops and implements activities and programs that support positive employee
experiences, engagement, and retention.
- Assists Impex in ensuring a dignified exit for all separating employees during the
offboarding process.
HR GENERALIST AND ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS [20%]
- May serve as a point of contact for employee relations, including general
employment information, complaints, concerns, or other employment-related
matters.
- May provide guidance and direction to employees and management regarding
employee relations including coaching and performance management.
- May conduct complaint intake meetings with employees and prepares case file
for HR Executive Consultant’s review.
- Processes, reports, scans, files, and tracks all data and information related to
talent and employee relations management.
- Assists in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of pay and workforce
management plans.
- Maintains accurate and current employee records, handling confidential
information with utmost discretion.
- Facilitates internal communication regarding HR policies, announcements, and
updates.
- Keeps updated on latest federal, state, and local regulations, trends, and best
practices in talent and employment management.
- Provides support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves,
compensation, and resolves any issues that may arise.
- Provides assistance and support to other HR colleagues and team.
- Provides additional assistance to the HR Manager by performing other HR-
related duties as requested.
- Serves as the Acting HR Manager when assigned during vacations or any
extended absence of HR Manager.
Minimum Required Qualifications (MRQ):
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or
a closely-related field.
- Four (4) years of documented successful hands-on experience in full spectrum
talent management including workforce planning and all functions related to
sourcing, selecting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, evaluating, and
retaining employees; must also have knowledge of all human resources functions
and a minimum of five (5) years of exposure to these functions as part of an HR
department or team.
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and basic
skill in PowerPoint.
- Expertise in utilizing HRIS and ATS platforms for efficient talent and data
management.
- Strong organizational, communication, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of related federal, state, and local employment
and wage and hour laws.
- Strong command of HR principles, processes, and best practices for delivering
efficient and effective operations and for providing positive employee
experiences.
- Ability to consistently, effectively, and timely deliver high quality work in a
professional manner within a fast-paced auto dealership environment.
Preferred Additional Qualifications (PAQ):
Impex gives preference to hiring candidates who, in addition to meeting all Minimum
Required Qualifications, also meet and demonstrate to Impex’s satisfaction one or
more of the following qualifications:
- Two (2) or more years of consecutive and direct experience working in an
automotive dealership or working in a closely related company within the
automotive industry, or seven (7) years of progressively responsible and
qualifying HR experience.
- Master’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or a
closely-related field of study.
- Credentialed through SHRM, HRCI, or other reputable HR certifying agency
Impex deems acceptable.
- Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter or demonstration of various otherwise
successful recruitment campaigns on the platform; or demonstration of various
successful social media recruitment campaigns on Instagram, TikTok, X-Twitter,
Facebook, or WhatsApp Business.
- Demonstrated experience using AI technologies to enhance talent
management/employment functions; or using Notion software.
Working Conditions: This role involves working in an office setting within the auto
dealership in Greensboro, NC, requiring interaction with various departments and
occasional involvement in dealership events. Vehicle travel between Impex locations is
also required from time to time.
