Implant & Periodontal Associates NW is seeking a self-motivated, customer-focused and detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator/Front Desk Specialist to join our team!
This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow, coordinating insurance verifications, and providing exceptional customer service in our periodontal office.
You will be the first point of contact for patients and assist in the daily administrative functions of the practice.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
- Answer phone calls, schedule patients appointments, and help manage the front desk area.
- Verify and update patient insurance information, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims.
- Coordinate insurance pre-authorizations and benefits verification for periodontal treatments.
- Review and submit insurance claims, follow up on pending claims, and resolve issues related to reimbursements.
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance coverage and treatment options.
- Handle billing inquiries and provide assistance with patient account management.
- Follow up on accounts receivable and collecting payments.
- Maintain patient records and ensure proper documentation of patient visits and treatments.
- Support the dental team with any administrative tasks as needed, such as confirming appointments, preparing charts, treatment follow up, presenting treatment plans, etc.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a front desk or administrative role, preferably in a dental or periodontal office.
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance, claims processing, and billing procedures is REQUIRED.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and insurance providers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
- Presents a polished and professional appearance and attire, as it is essential to create a positive impression and represent our office effectively.
- Proficient in using dental software and office management systems (experience with Open Dental and/or DentalXChange is a plus!)
