What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Intern position at Impower?
Participate in facilitation of our Prevention Programs through observation, hands on learning and program application.
This is an internship opportunity for students enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program.
- Work alongside a Prevention staff member observing the intake and assessment process
- Assist with prep work for group facilitation
- Assist with group facilitation - evidenced based curriculum used
- Learn techniques to engage with student
- Learn techniques for de-escalation
- Learn documentation process
- Learn outcomes and data collection for outcome evaluation
- Use collaboration and communication skills to develop and maintain working relationships in a professional setting
- Conforms to all codes of ethics, established or to be established, regarding performance of duty, client interaction, confidentiality, etc.
- Follow HIPAA rules and IMPOWER Policies & Procedures regarding confidentiality of client information.
- Lear state mandated abuse & neglect reporting procedures and IMPOWER Policies & Procedures regarding abuse / neglect of children, disabled individuals, or elderly individuals.
- Learn the process of submitting Incident Reports for sentinel events, as specified in IMPOWER Policies & Procedures.
- Complete timesheets
